SZA Claps Back At BBL Bodyshamer: 'Y'all Wonder Why I Don’t Feel Comfortable [With] Y'all'

SZA has hit back at people who have been criticizing her for having a BBL, also known as a Brazilian bum lift.

Responding to a post which said: “Aka before she got big and BBL culture like,” SZA took issue with people commenting on her appearance.

She said: “Yall say weird shit like this and wonder why I’m different and don’t feel comfortable w yall anymore . Lol. Yall do realize I mean different as in I don’t go on live+ talk and don’t communicate w yall like that anymore lmao not different as in change my appearance tf.”

SZA previously admitted she regretted getting the procedure.

She said in an interview with Vogue: “I’m so mad I did that shit. I gained all this weight from being immobile while recovering and trying to preserve the fat. It was just so stupid. But who gives a fuck? You got a BBL, you realize you didn’t need the shit. It doesn’t matter. I’ll do a whole bunch more shit just like it if I want to before I’m fucking dead because this body is temporary.’

She continued: “It just wasn’t super necessary. I have other shit that I need to work on about myself. I need to get my fucking mental health together. Not to say you can’t do those things simultaneously, just, for me, I realize wherever you go, there you’ll be.

But I love my butt. Don’t get me wrong. My booty look nice. And I’m grateful that it looks pretty much – I don’t know, sometimes natural, but I don’t even care. It’s something that I wanted. I’m enjoying it. I love shaking it.”

SZA commented to Elle: “I hate trying on clothes. I don’t shop anywhere, I just wear whatever is free in my mail. I’m like, ‘Is it an extra large? Great.’ If I can feel like I’m under a blanket when I’m outside, that’s ideal. I treat my butt like a purse. It’s just there to enhance whatever else. And that’s why I paid for it, because it works all by itself."

Here’s How Justin Bieber Reacted to Not Seeing ‘Queen’ Rihanna Perform Her Own Songs at Karaoke

Justin Bieber is just as bummed as fans are that he didn’t get to see Rihanna‘s latest impromptu performance.

Over the weekend, RiRi made a pitstop at Manhattan’s Girls Love Karaoke, where she took over the stage to perform “Needed Me” and “Sex With Me” from her 2016 album Anti.

“Missed seein u sing Queen,” he wrote on his Instagram Story Friday (Jan. 3) with the goat, crown and shocked reaction emojis over a clip he reshared of his Def Jam labelmate performing “Needed Me.”

“Don’t do too much because, you know, I got five minutes. My battery’s about to burn out. There’s a lot of cameras. I didn’t come here for this s–t,” Rihanna said in a video recap of the event posted to Girls Love Karaoke’s Instagram.

The last time the “Work” hitmaker delivered a full concert was in March, when she performed during the pre-wedding celebration for Anant Ambani, the son of Asia’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, India. It was the first time she put on a full show since her Anti World Tour in 2016. Coincidentally, Bieber performed at another of the same couple’s pre-wedding celebration months later, marking the “Sorry” singer’s first performance since he canceled the remainder of his Justice World Tour in 2023 due to health concerns.

Both superstars have been quiet on the music front and have prioritized starting their own families, but Rihanna previously teased that she and her partner A$AP Rocky have been cooking up something new. “I already got stuff that I feel like I could make hits out of,” she told Entertainment Tonight in April. “Me and Rocky are really trying to figure out who’s gonna use what because it’s so good.”
